Hi. I’m Lily & breathwork saved my life.
After a challenging childhood littered with emotional abuse, addict caregivers, and little to no safety at home I emerged into my young adult life with low-self-esteem, major relational issues, and complex PTSD. At 26 years old I was working a job I despised, dating a man I knew was wrong for me but was terrified to leave, and drinking away most evenings just to make it to the next day. I would say the quality of life was low but honestly there was no quality there at all. Each day slid by with nothing notable happening just shame at what I thought was a wasted life. I thought, “Maybe happiness just isn’t meant for some people. People like me.” I was stuck in a depressing loop that seemed impossible to escape.
And then one day something shifted my consciousness permanently. It broke the cycle. I stumbled into a breathwork session by accident that changed my life forever. In the workshop, I felt relief from the lifetime of pain I had been experiencing daily. It was suddenly clear how I had been holding myself back from my truest desires out of the fear they were not meant for me. My life ended and started again that day. It shattered my soul wide open, and I stood there, pieces in hand, with a beautiful question: "How do I want her to look this time?”
That was the beginning of my journey of putting myself back together and creating my dream life. I left my 9-5 desk job, moved to the Caribbean, and now do what I love: holding space for self-healers to heal themselves. My PTSD symptoms have evaporated, and I live an inspired life of fulfillment.
My background and education are grounded in both the science and spiritual experience of breathwork. My goal is to offer clients and students a full-spectrum understanding of breath therapy - this includes the neuroscience, physiology, and psychology of breathwork as well.
My foundational understanding of breathwork originally came from completing my 200 Hour Yoga Facilitator education on Pranayama. I then decided to deepen my knowledge, training under Jon Paul Crimi’s school of conscious connected breathwork. However, after finishing the program, I still had an unsatiated desire to continue my education. Since then, I have taken courses with Biodynamic Breathwork, Wim Hof, Soma Breath, and many other renowned breathwork experts of our time.
Recently, I completed training in the science of Polyvagal Theory via Stephen Porges. We cannot teach connection via breathwork to students without a comprehensive understanding of the ways trauma creates disconnection within the body and mind. I have realized that being trauma-informed is absolutely necessary for any breathwork or somatic therapist so as not to create further damage or disassociation. All of my workshops are rooted in ethical and responsible use of breathwork techniques to generate lasting positive effects for breathers.
My curiosity for all things breath led me to teach teachers. After guiding thousands of students and witnessing the life-changing results, I know this knowledge is not meant to be held by only a few people. It wants to move through all of us. That is why I feel called to lead facilitators now, so we can touch as many hearts and minds as possible together, just as it first touched mine. Are you ready to join me?
